Instead, ATEEZ’s domination of the industry was a slow build, but inspiring idols like Wonhyuk, who was previously from E’last; Gyuvin, from AND2BLE (previously ZEROBASEONE); and Junhyuk, previously from MIRAE, who would cite ATEEZ as their inspiration.

Starting formation and pre-debut activities in 2016, ATEEZ came from very little and has grown to become one of the biggest K-pop boy groups in the world, collecting numerous achievements such as being the first K-pop boy group to perform at Coachella, the first K-pop group to headline the Mawazine music festival in Morocco, multiple No. 1s on the Billboard Top Albums Sales Chart, and winning eight grand prizes across multiple award ceremonies.

I started listening to ATEEZ very casually in 2020 and would not become a fan of theirs until 2022. They’ve consistently stayed in my top artists list every year since, and I absolutely adore their commitment to artistry in an industry that constantly chases the next trend. They’ve set a different standard for me in K-pop, one that focuses more on the artists’ commitment to their craft rather than what the popular songs are.

Alongside their upcoming release of “GOLDEN HOUR : Part. 6” on Nov. 13, with the pre-release “Drip” already out and dominating my Spotify queue, ATEEZ will soon embark on their sixth world tour, [ZERO TO ALL], ahead of their rumored military enlistment. In honor of their eighth anniversary, I, as an Atiny (ATEEZ’s fandom name), feel the need to continue my agenda to create more Atiny’s. So in celebration of ATEEZ’s eighth anniversary, here are my top eight ATEEZ albums to hopefully turn you into an Atiny.

Honorable Mentions

TREASURE EP.2 : Zero To One

I’d be a fool to not mention the album that really kicked off ATEEZ’s rise to fame. With title track “Say My Name” and the follow-up track “HALA HALA (Hearts Awakened, Live Alive),” “TREASURE EP.2 : Zero To One” throws you right into the lore of ATEEZ’s universe with the introduction of their alternate counterparts, “Halateez.” The only reason this album didn’t make it into the top eight was due to the flow when listening. The first three tracks start off with this hyped up and in your face feeling, but it quickly dies down with the fourth track “Light.” Don’t get me wrong, I adore “Light,” but it feels a bit jarring in the middle of the EP. Do I still recommend this album? Yes, I recommend all of their music to be honest. But, it’s just a little too jarring to make it into my top picks.

SPIN OFF : FROM THE WITNESS

I would still be a fool to not mention the album that converted me into an Atiny in the first place. Dropping right between one of my favorite series of theirs, “THE WORLD” (we’ll get to that later), “SPIN OFF : FROM THE WITNESS” is a single album of ATEEZ’s that feels a little odd. It features two unique tracks and three remixes of previous songs from 2019 and 2021. As much as it pains me to say, I do not like these remixes. To be honest, I’m not a fan of K-pop remixes in general, let alone ATEEZ’s. But this single makes up for it with the title track “HALAZIA,” an incredible culmination of alternative metal vibes and religious imagery relating to their lore. The other original track, “Outro : Blue Bird,” continues on the same vibes as “HALAZIA,” though it suffers from the three remixes in between them. From the choreography to the visuals in their music video, “HALAZIA” pulled me in and set my standard for what ATEEZ’s music is.

GOLDEN HOUR : Part.3 ‘In Your Fantasy Edition’

I’ve already discussed this album in my rating of 2025 K-pop albums, but needless to say I also love this album greatly. Unfortunately, there are too many songs that I don’t often go back to listen to to place them on my main list. However, if you’re interested in my rating of this album and other K-pop releases, check out this article.

The Rankings

8. ZERO : FEVER Part.1

Starting off strong with dual title tracks “INCEPTION” and “THANXX,” “ZERO : FEVER Part. 1” is the only album from ATEEZ’s “FEVER” series to make it into my rankings. Even though these series were the albums that I ended up listening to starting out, I think they have some of their weakest tracks. However, “ZERO : FEVER Part.1” is an exception to that, with standout tracks like “FEVER” and “Good Lil Boy” serving as continuous tonal shifts throughout the album. This album also features various different genres, from spoken word with “Dear Diary ” 2016.7.29,” hip hop soul with “FEVER” and afrobeats with “One Day At A Time.” Being ATEEZ’s second series and properly kicking off their lore with the inclusion of diary versions of their albums, “ZERO : FEVER Part.1” is a great album to set what’s to come.

7. GOLDEN HOUR : Part.2

Have I spent at least $100 on multiple versions of this album? Yes. That just goes to show how much of a fan I am of “GOLDEN HOUR : Part.2.” Releasing in November of 2024, this album was released right after I saw ATEEZ on their fourth world tour, Towards the Light : Will to Power, and had the opportunity to experience the beauty of their music in person. The album’s title track, “Ice On My Teeth,” is a trap classical crossover that combines all of the members’ strengths. B-sides like “Man on Fire” and “Selfish Waltz” fall into romantic synths and reggaeton beats, while “Enough” ends the album out on a hopeful contemporary note. Despite the title track being one of my least favorites of theirs, this album is held up high by its accompanying tracks and standout performances.

6. BEYOND : ZERO

While I mentioned earlier I’m not the biggest fan of remixes, I’m also not a big fan of language remakes of songs. Don’t get me wrong, I love that they exist, but I think I get a bit too attached to the original, so the remakes feel a little jarring. That being said, “BEYOND : ZERO” doesn’t fall into that trap and instead brings something new. The album’s title track, “ROCKY – Boxers Ver.,” was originally a b-side off their album “ZERO : FEVER Part.3,” but the slight changes in instrumental and the accompanying music videos earn the track its new title status. However, the track that stands out the most to me is “The King.” A classical crossover of drill and electro-industrial beats, “The King” is a highly underrated song in my opinion, compared to the tens of millions of streams their other tracks get. With no music video or live performance, “The King” sadly sits there on streaming platforms with no push to the mainstream audience. However, it does not collect dust in my playlist, and I highly recommend checking the trackout.

5. TREASURE EP.3 : One To All

I will start off this rating by mentioning, “ILLUSION” is my least favorite title track. Now before the pitchforks come out, I still love this song over many other songs within the K-pop genre; I’m just not a fan of autotune like that. That being said, this album is the epitome of summer vibes, with the title track “WAVE” serving reggaeton and EDM greatness. Accompanying b-sides like “AURORA” and “UTOPIA” keep this bright attitude of exploring house and future bass themes. With “WAVE” earning ATEEZ their first music show win, it’s a staple within the community, standing out against their usual heavy-hitting songs as a refreshing difference.

4. THE WORLD EP.FIN : WILL

The final installment in the “THE WORLD” series, “THE WORLD EP.FIN : WILL,” this series ended out as a fantastic trilogy for ATEEZ before they would embark on their fourth world tour (although two installments of the “GOLDEN HOUR” series would later be released before their North America and Europe legs, respectively). Debuting the title track “Crazy Form” at the 2023 MNET Asian Music Awards, the track is as crazy as the name suggests, utilizing dancehall themes, a genre of Jamaican music that is a more sparse version of reggae than the roots reggae style, throughout the song. It’s everything but calm, throwing you from verse to verse, and the album is no different. Introducing sub-unit songs, the album explores various genres, like many of ATEEZ’s albums. “Youth” by members Yunho and Mingi explores the hip hop soul genre, while “MATZ” by members Hongjoong and Seonghwa is right in your face with trap and hip hop elements. Other b-sides like “Silver Light,” two of my favorite songs in general, explore synth and Latin hip-hop. ATEEZ’s captain Hongjoong said the album “wraps up (their first) five years as ATEEZ and preview what is to come in the following years,” with the album being built around the track “Crazy Form.” It was also ATEEZ’s first number-one and fourth top-10 album in the US, starting the domination ATEEZ has had on the industry since 2024.

3. TREASURE EPILOGUE : Action To Answer

Released in 2020, “TREASURE EPILOGUE : Action To Answer” is the final installment in the “TREASURE” series, combining synths and future bass alongside members harmonizing with one another. The final chorus of “Answer” perfectly showcases why ATEEZ is known as the “last 30 seconds” group, combining high energy dance performance with Jongho’s ad-libs in the background to compliment Yunho’s lead of the final chorus. B-sides like “Horizon” and “Precious” explore trance like states within their instrumentals alongside EDM elements. “Star 1117,” a soft ballad with R&B and rock elements, serves as a beautiful ending to the TREASURE series, dedicated to Atiny’s as a reference to their fandom names’ announcement date. The final song, “Outro : Long Journey,” complements ATEEZ’s first track on their debut album, “Intro : Long Journey,” ending out ATEEZ’s first series and promising more to come.

2. THE WORLD EP.1 : MOVEMENT

I’ve broke both the wall and my vocal cords since the release of this album. As the first installment in the “THE WORLD” series, it sets the tone for the short but might series that has dominated my playlists for the last four years. Taking inspiration from dystopian media like the novel “1984” and film “Metropolis,” “THE WORLD EP.1 : MOVEMENT” throws you into the alternate dystopian universe within ATEEZ’s lore, taking metal, rock, and synth elements to fully immerse you in the experience. “Guerrilla” is a standout title track from ATEEZ’s discography, consistently having fans scream the end lyrics of “break the wall” at the top of their lungs every show in and outside of South Korea. This album was a very strong contender for my top album, but it’s only beaten out just barely.

1. THE WORLD EP.2 : OUTLAW

I’m at a loss for words when it comes to this album. Releasing in June of 2023, “THE WORLD EP. 2 : OUTLAW” is just banger after banger, keeping up the energy throughout the entire listen. The title track “BOUNCY (K-HOT CHILLI PEPPERS)” is right in your face as soon as it starts with the cyberpunk aesthetic exploding throughout the entire music video, as well as literal explosions. The album combines electro, synth, and hip hop elements throughout, with all the b-sides standing strongly on their own outside of the album. It’s hard to determine my favorites, but seeing “This World” and “Wake Up” back-to-back live continues to live rent-free in my mind. Other tracks do well to utilize the members’ individual skills, such as “Dune,” taking the opportunity to utilize Yeosang’s lower register to go into this industrial metal vibe in the chorus. From intoxicating vocals to choreographies you can’t keep your eyes off of, there’s a reason this is ATEEZ’s most popular comeback and continues to remain a staple among casual listeners to this day.

Photo Credit: KQ Entertainment On Oct. 24, 2018, ATEEZ released their debut EP, “Treasure EP.1: All to Zero,” and shook the K-pop industry right off their debut, which is what I would say if my hopes and dreams came true.
