I was under the impression they’d be bluesy-folk and upon hearing the opening track to this album, which has a delta blues twang, I thought that’s how the entire album would go. I was wrong. Pretty much the entire album has pop sentiments and a bit of a psychedelic approach, and it’s definitely feel-good music. Not a depressing one in the bunch! #11 reminds me a bit of T-Rex (this guy is no Marc Bolan though). Apparently the band is trying out a new direction and fans have said this is their weakest release yet, but since they’re new to me I dig it.

Reviewed by: Lindsay Schell on February 9, 2012

RIYL: Fruit Bats, Blitzen Trapper

Recommended Tracks: 3, 1, 7, 11 and 12

FCC Warning: None

Label: Anti-

Release Date: February 7, 2012

[3230,181
652,653
post-9010","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-new-music-rotation","category-rock-rotation","tag-dr-dog","tag-lindsay-schell
["GET
