{"id":9662,"date":"2012-02-23T22:17:56","date_gmt":"2012-02-24T04:17:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/?p=9662"},"modified":"2015-06-27T16:01:21","modified_gmt":"2015-06-27T21:01:21","slug":"meet-the-past-edgar-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/2012\/02\/23\/meet-the-past-edgar-show\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Meet the Past&#8221; Edgar Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The Kansas City Public Library sponsors the event Thursday March 1st, 2012.\u00a0<!--more--><\/h2>\n<p>The Kansas City Public Library sponsors the &#8220;Meet the Past&#8221; series with Library Director Crosby Kemper III interviewing important historical figures (as portrayed by actors) connected to Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p>This &#8220;Meet the Past with Crosby Kemper III&#8221; features an interview with Edgar Snow (as portrayed by actor Robert Gibby Brand) on the set of &#8220;Nixon in China&#8221; in the Muriel Kauffman Theatre of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.<\/p>\n<p>As a journalist, Snow is best known for writing about 1930s China such as \u201cRed Star Over China,\u201d an account of General Mao and the Communist Red Army.<\/p>\n<p>A free bus will be available to take people to the event from the Kansas Union in Lawrence, Kansas. Please signup in the SUA Box Office, Kansas Union, level 4. Space is limited. Admission is free, but this is a ticketed event.
