love&loveand. is the second release from Australian band Morning Harvey and the follow-up to their 2013 EP Well for Wishes. With this second offering, they’ve refined their sound and added some killer hooks to their repertoire – “Smith Street Swap Meet,” the second track, is a particularly good example.
“Pinch Me Velvet,” a poppy, psychedelic single reminiscent of old-school Oasis, sets the stage for the EP with its shimmering musicality and echoing vocals. The rest of the songs follow a similar sparkly, sunshiney, spiraling formula. Somehow, each track is just different enough from the last to keep things interesting. The only downside to this release is simply that there isn’t more of it.
Morning Harvey has just finished up their Australian tour in support of love&loveand. If they can keep up their momentum, I think they could see some real international success. They’re definitely a band to watch.
