KU defeated Bowling Green 3-1 in a well-pitched game in Nashville, Tenn., at the Music City Classic.
Freshman lefty Wes Benjamin provided a quality start for Ritch Price going seven innings, giving up only five hits and one run.
After knocking three hits, and one RBI yesterday, junior Kevin Kuntz went two for three at the plate with another RBI in the first game of two that the Jayhawks will play today.
The second half of the double header will take place at 2:00 p.m. with Kansas facing host school Belmont.
Thomas Taylor will pitch for the Jayhawks; he’ll be going against right-hander Matt Hamann for the Bruins.
