Dream System 8 is the latest synth-pop duo coming out from LA, is their debut We Sleep Again worth checking out?
According to their website, Dream System 8 comprises of Erica Elektra and David Klotz. Klotz is no stranger to music, he’s edited music for “Game of Thrones,” “American Horror Story,” and “Stranger Things.” Elektra’s been involved with music since she was little. After the two matched on tinder, instead of starting a relationship, they started Dream System 8.
80’s synth-pop is the best way to describe We Sleep Again. Klotz gained inspiration for the album’s sound after working on “Stranger Things,” going as far as to make sure their equipment would be as vintage as their sound.
The band pulls off their debut successfully. Klotz’ experience and talent does not go unnoticed during the album’s 12 driving synth tracks that meld with Elektra’s vocals the whole way through. Dream System 8’ We Sleep Again hits the mark on creating a debut that flows well, yet allows each track to work in isolation, making it one album you don’t want to miss out on.
