2023 BATTLE OF THE BEATS SUBMISSION FORM

This year, KJHK has cooked up Battle of the Beats, an amateur DJ and electronic music production competition. THE WINNING ACT RECEIVES $750, SECOND PLACE WINS $500, THIRD PLACE WINS $250, AND FOURTH PLACE WINS $250. The stakes are high, so submit your mix today and read how this all works below.

    • YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY BY 11:59 P.M. ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15TH, 2023.
    • THE PROCESS:
      • All eligible artists must submit their music via this online form by October 15th, 2023 at 11:59pm.
      • KJHK’s staff will listen and review all submissions, and pick six finalists.
      • The six finalists will perform at Battle of the Beats on Thursday, November 9th, 2023 at The Replay Lounge in Lawrence, KS.
      • Prizes for winner and runners -up awarded at Battle of the Beats]:
      • 1st PLACE: $750.00
      • 2nd PLACE: $500.00
      • 3rd PLACE: $250.00
  • 4th PLACE: $250.00
  • *Prizes will be distributed within two weeks of Battle of the Beats and all appropriate tax information must be supplied by winners to KJHK.
  • WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER:
    • Entrants from anywhere in Kansas, as well as DJ’s or artists from Kansas City, MO and its surrounding metro area.
    • All styles of music are welcome.
    • Entrants must be considered “amateur” or unsigned. Those who are signed to a label will not be considered. 
    • There must be an element of a live performance in the entrant’s set. The entrant must not use an aux cord. 
    • Entrants must be willing to be interviewed by KJHK before the competition. 
    • ​​Entrants must be able to perform in Lawrence, Kansas on Thursday, November 9th, 2023 from 10-midnight or later.
