A revival of the garage band
Most bands, when they come back out of retirement, make music that leaves people disappointed and wishing they had just stayed gone. This is not the case for Dinosaur Jr. Ever since their 2007 return with the great album Beyond, Dinosaur Jr. has been putting out albums that have been every bit as good as their late 80’s-early 90s heyday. Songs like “Watch the Corners” really encapsulate what made Dinosaur Jr. so good in the first place. Their laid-back but still rocking guitars and their lazy slacker chic vocals that inspired a whole generation of grunge bands that tried to emulate them. I highly recommend this album to all fans of that late 80s alternative guitar sound.
