Acoustic offering from the king of garage rock still delivers the energy
Ty Segall – Sleeper
The ever prolific Ty Segall’s latest album is more acoustic than his last few albums but that doesn’t mean it has any less of that raw energy. Segall’s vocals, which have always bared a resemblance to John Lennon, are at their most Beatlesque while the arrangements are pure 60s psychedelic pop. The highlights include the title track which features some great melodies and the track “She Don’t Care” which any fan of neo-psychedelia is sure to enjoy. Fans of Segall’s more garage oriented material may be slightly disappointed but for everyone else this is a great release that is sure to get many spins in the future.
