KJHK Live Music Committee Staff Application

The KJHK-SUA Live Music Committee programs music events geared toward KU students at campus and downtown venues. Programs include concerts, local music at Tunes@Night, KJHK’s Farmers’ Ball, and collaborative events with the Lied Center. We are looking for volunteer additions to our staff. Meetings for the Live Music Committee, a collaboration between KJHK and Student Union Activities (SUA) are 6-8 p.m. Thursdays. Thanks for applying!     All successful applicants are required to attend a monthly meeting. Are you prepared to organize your work and school schedules in order to attend KJHK All-Staff meetings? Meetings occur on the first Wednesday of every month at 5:15 p.m. in the Kansas Union.
    The KJHK-SUA Live Music Committee meets weekly at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Kansas Union. Will you be attend these meetings? All successful applicants must attend these meetings.
    Members of the KJHK-SUA Live Music Committee participate in weekly SUA board meetings at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Kansas Union. These meetings typically last an hour, but may run longer depending on that week's meeting agenda. All successful applicants must attend these meetings.
    Members of the KJHK-SUA Live Music Committee are required to complete two (2) weekly, regularly scheduled office hours during the business day in the SUA office on level 4 of the Kansas Union. All successful applicants must meet this requirement.
    Members of the KJHK-SUA Live Music Committee are required to attend and assist with all Live Music Committee events, including concerts on-campus and downtown. All successful applicants must attend these events.
    To be a part of KJHK, no matter what staff you're on, you must know and abide by the rules and regulations KJHK sets forth. This is vital to the station's continued existence! Please review the KJHK Handbook, available at www.kjhk.org in the "About KJHK" section of the site. Violation of station rules may result in suspension or termination.
    All KJHK employees must respect the station by maintaining its cleanliness. This includes picking up trash, refiling music, and generally maintaining a neat and efficient work environment. Do you agree to keep KJHK a clean, professional environment every time you are at KJHK?
  • By electronically 'signing' your name above, you agree (1) to work within the spirit and framework of the KJHK Constitution as presented in the KJHK Handbook, (2) to perform the duties required of the position to which you are hired, and (3) that you will abide by the KJHK Participation Contract, also found within the KJHK Handbook. Intention misrepresentation of facts on this application - or any other breach of this agreement - will constitute grounds for suspension or termination from KJHK.

    By submitting your application to KJHK, you hereby agree to abide by station policies and procedures. These responsibilities include attending monthly KJHK meetings; attending weekly KJHK-SUA Live Music Committee meeting, scheduled at 6 p.m. Thursdays; attending weekly SUA Board meeting, scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursdays; attending and assisting with all KJHK-SUA Live Music Committee events; and maintaining one (1) office hour per week in the Union Programs (SUA) Office on level 4 of the Kansas Union (members will be required to clock in at the Programs Box Office for their office hour).
