Electronica with a side of delicious.
Canopy EP by Painted Palms sounds like the soundtrack to a dream world, an alternate dimension, or perhaps a videogame of some sort. Each song is playful and inconsistent, with a clear cut chorus yet a background that keeps changing. There is never a boring or stark moment. With titles like “Water Hymn” and “Great White,” the sea-side influence is obvious in both name and application. Chances are, if you enjoy the likes of Passion Pit and electronica with a touch of psychedelia, this is the album for you.
