What’s more beautiful than Kate Bush singing about snow? Not much.
Kate Bush has been making classic art pop since the 70s and her latest album, 50 Words for Snow, is no different. 50 Words for Snow is an ambitious album that is almost like a song cycle about the cold and desolate months of winter. There’s no track under six minutes on this album but don’t let the track lengths deter you, they are all masterfully done. One of the standout tracks on the album is the unlikely duet with Elton John on Snowed In at Wheeler Street. Bush has managed to make Elton sound more emotional than he has in many years. Other tracks like ‘Wild Man’ and ’50 Words for Snow’ are also well worth hearing. If you are looking for an album that perfectly captures the essence of loneliness that winter months bring, than 50 Words for Snow is right up your alley.
