Wet Leg Makes a Big Splash with Sold Out KC Show

Popular indie rock band, Wet Leg, gave an incredible live performance at The Truman in KC on December 6th. The band was touring their new self-titled album Wet Leg and gave an electric, high energy performance that the crowd loved. The night started with openers Faux Real. Faux Real was extremely prompt and did a timely 45 minute set. Although it was not too long, the group gave an unforgettable performance. Watching them was a thrilling experience that combined elements of disco, post punk, and electronic. The duo had a lively stage presence to say the least that engaged the entire audience. Although I had never personally listened to the group prior to this performance, I was surely a fan after watching them. Standout songs included Kindred Spirit and Boss Sweet, I will definitely be listening to these songs again as well as exploring the rest of their music further.

After a brief 15 minutes, Wet Leg was on stage and ready to go by 9 p.m. Never have I been to a show where I felt my time was as well respected as I did seeing Wet Leg and Faux Real. The group kicked off their set with their upbeat hit song Being In Love followed by their other hit, Wet Dream. The group blew up on tiktok with Wet Dream as well as their closing song Chaise Longue, which blew up initially in the summer of 2021 with millions of streams. The band is composed of guitarists and vocalists Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, bassist Ellis Durand, drummer Henry Holmes, and Joshua Omead Mobaraki on synths. Everyone in the band brought great energy from beginning to end keeping the audience engaged all night. Rhian had absolutely killer vocals and Hester accompanied with catchy harmonies as well as impressive guitar riffs throughout each song. After seeing them live, Wet Leg has been on repeat for me, and I can only hope they will come back to Kansas soon!
