KJHK & KPR Present: Jazz in the Evening

KJHK & KPR’s Jazz in the Evening will bring you swinging jazz performances from KU students, America Patton’s jazz group, and the premiere of the documentary “America’s Trumpet” directed and filmed by KU students Brandon Luck and Backer Hamada. The documentary follows America Patton and his work to restore the legacy of Kansas City’s redlined Quindaro district through the music and philosophy of his acclaimed father, Rufus Harley, a jazz legend. Join us for appetizers, live music, a film screening, and an interview with America Patton and the directors moderated by KPR’s Kaye McIntyre. Let’s celebrate local jazz together Saturday, February 10, from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Woodruff Auditorium in the Kansas Union. This event is made possible in part by the Green Lady Lounge and is open to the public.
