Slayyyter has been on an insane run, musically and with her tour that started in July, 2026, and will end in early November. I had the pleasure of attending one of the first dates of her tour in St. Louis at The Pageant on July 28. A show review that is better late than never.
I genuinely would have several pages of writing to upload if I could because of how amazing she was to see live. The setlist consisted mostly of songs off her 2026 album, “WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA,” but also included four new songs off of her upcoming album, “WOR$T MAN IN AMERICA,” those songs being “crank 2,” “brand new chanel$,” “I think he’s got a girl,” and “nekromantic.” The energy that Slayyyter gave for her hometown show never stopped and never slowed down. The show opened with the classic “WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA” opening track, “DANCE…” Personal highlights from the setlist for me being “CRANK,” “$T. LOSER,” :I’M ACTUALLY KINDA FAMOUS,” “OLD TECHNOLOGY,” “YES GODDD,” “crank 2,” and “brand new chanel$.”
Every video I have from the night of the show is so shaky. You can hear me screaming in every single clip on my phone as well. But this has been a show I have not been able to stop thinking about. I cannot talk about this show without talking about hearing “brand new chanel$” for the first time live, just days before its official release. I truly feel that the energy that we first saw in her Coachella performances hasn’t slowed down since, and “brand new chanel$” shows that. True and raw emotion paired with such talent that paused my entire music taste for weeks, because this song was all I listened to. In comparison, “crank 2” feels like the opposite of that track but so similar in the same breath. It’s a more outward anger that we see in this track with paid homages to her home state, Missouri, in the music video.
If you are reading this and are just so sad you missed the St. Louis dates she had in July, DON’T WORRY! IT’S NOT TOO LATE! Slayyyter will be opening for Turnstile along with Die Spitz in Lawrence for Day on the Hill at KU! Tickets for Day on the Hill are available at the KU Conference Center.
