I-70 Independent will be bringing the best in local hip-hop to the KJHK airwaves every Tuesday.
I-70 Independent is a local hip-hop show that features mostly independent hip-hop artists from Topeka to Lawrence, Kansas City to Columbia, hence the name I-70. Midwestern hip-hop has a unique sound that is different from the more mainstream East and West Coast hip-hop that more people are familiar with. The greater KC area has a great local hip-hop scene and that is what this special program is all about. From Steddy P to Stik Figa, Farout to Spence, we’ve got the best local guys covered. There are talented hip-hop artists right in our backyard that are as good as, if not better, than anything you’ll hear on Top 40 charts. DJ Colin Wright will bring some in-studio interviews and performances occasionally and will always have good music on the air.
I-70 Independent airs every Tuesday from 9-10 p.m.
