Ten local drag queens took the stage on Saturday night at the Bottleneck during the Punk Pony Club show. The drag show consisted of the queens lip-syncing to Chappell Roan’s debut album, “The Rise and Fall of the Midwest Princess” and a setlist of various pop songs by DJ Chance Romance.
Each queen served fierce looks with a common theme of pink, glitter and flare. With lip syncs to “Feminonmenon,” “Casual,” “HOT TO GO!” and “Naked in Manhattan,” the audience sang along and danced together throughout the show. Memorable moments range from when drag artist Lambyyy crowd surfed to a lip sync of “skater boi” by Avril Lavinge, and drag king Johnny Diablo showed off his pole dancing skills.
Drag queen Ema Eagle hosted the show alongside Dorthy and the Dolls, and invited audience members to the stage to participate in a costume contest. The show ended with the drag artists performing together on stage to more songs by Chappell Roan.
