I’m a first-year grad student in the School of Education and my position is just DJ.

Tell us about your show(s)?

Well, Alternative Flashback basically is college rock, college indie rock from the 90s and 2000s; basically, turning the clock back to when I was originally in college, so that’s how I’m looking at it. The music I listened to when I was first a college student in 1991, that’s the kind of music I’m putting on the air.

What’s your favorite part about hosting it?

My favorite part is just actually spinning tunes that I know that some people, some Jayhawks, have never heard before – especially with Alternative Flashback. It’s stuff that I listened to for decades that I’m trying to introduce to Jayhawks. And the coolest thing to me is that I’m basically sharing my love of music with other people, other listeners, and that’s true for Malicious Intent as well. It’s just sharing my love of music with listeners.

Random question: If you could be reincarnated as any animal, which animal would you be?

I’m going to have to say a panda. We saw some clips of some pandas enjoying the snow a couple of weeks back, and pandas just have fun and that’s how I look at life. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff, so pandas just have fun and I think I’d like to be reincarnated as a panda.
