Harper Simon – Division Street

Paul Simon’s son lives up to the hype

Division Street is Simon’s second solo album and the first he tried to make that he would actually listen to himself.  I would agree that it is nice album to listen to; it’s good as background music while you’re doing work or anything really.  All the tracks are all very similar, which I kind of liked.  Harper Simon is Paul Simon’s son so it made sense that his music has a very similar feel as his father’s music. It has a real folk sound as his debut album did with a bit of a rock added into it that was relaxing. With the relaxing nature of this album there were not many standout songs but “Veterans Parade”, “Nothing Gets Through”, ” ’99”, and “Leaves of Golden Brown” are some that stood out to me.
