Girl Power
Warpaint by Warpaint is a fantastic addition to 2014. For those of you who don’t know, Warpaint is an all-female dream pop, indie rock band, though it is hard for me to completely classify them as simply dream pop or neo-psychedlia. Nevertheless, those influences are present and are very prominent. Their sound shifts from chill and atmospheric on tracks like “Biggy” and “CC” to somber and soothing on “Teese” and “Go In” to groovy and faster paced on “Disco//very” and “Feeling Alright.” The best track on this album is “Keep It Healthy” with the single “Love Is To Die” as a close second. The album has well-crafted instrumental parts as well as fantastic vocals. Play this album– it’s full of good tunes in many ways.
