The debut album from the Madrid-based band, Hinds, has its highs and lows. Many tracks seem to be the garage rock lovechild of Girlpool, Courtney Barnett and Best Coast. Some of the tracks on Leave Me Alone are incredibly good but occasionally a ukulele or tambourine gets broken out and it sounds like an unfortunate art school sing along due to the multiple vocalists.
The group consists of vocalists Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote, guitar with Ade Martin and Amber Grimbergen finishing the sounds with bass and drums respectively. Hinds claimed that this album tries to address “faces of love” in a recent Pitchfork album review, which they do with varying levels of success.
