Mature evolution from oft-buzz alt-pop.
If you took a time machine back a few decades, you would most likely find the heart of this album there. The vocals and accompaniment are tired and raw, as if this is a live performance perfectly pieced together. Upon listening closely, it’s evident that the lyrics behind these tracks tell the story of sorrow, some heartbreak, with the promise of hope. Although titled alternative, I’d classify it more as California pop-rock at times. This is the sound of decades of influence from the past for the modern generation.
