The host of Hip-Hop Hype shares his favorite albums of the year
By Andy MacKay
It was quite a year in the world of hip-hop. A considered classic was released (good kid, m.A.A.d. city), a legend showed his stripes again (Life Is Good), a fat, rhyme-spitting chef dropped two fantastic mixtapes (Blue Chips and Rare Chandeliers), and a 17 year old MC made his mark in the hip-hop community (1999). With that, here is my Top 12 Of 2012 list. I am looking forward to what 2013 has in store!
1. Kendrick Lamar – good kid, m.A.A.d. City
2. Action Bronson – Blue Chips
8. Schoolboy Q – Habits & Contradictions
9. Action Bronson – Rare Chandeliers
11. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – The Heist
12. Brother Ali – Mourning In America
