Farmers’ Ball Semi-Finals

It’s time for the first weekend of Farmers’ Ball! Semis are at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at the Bottleneck.

Semi-Finals Show (top 8 bands compete):
When: 8 p.m. Saturday, April 18; 7 p.m. doors
Where: The Bottleneck
Cost: Tickets are $5 at the door for general admission and $3 with KU student ID. If you have a SUA Student Saver Card, you get in free.

The set order will be announced on the night of the show.

Semi-Finals Voting: Audience members will vote for their four favorite bands at the end of the night. You must stay until the end of the last band’s set to vote, and you must vote for four different bands.The four bands with the most audience votes will advance to Farmers’ Ball Finals on Saturday, April 25 at the Bottleneck.

Cost: Tickets are $5 at the door for general admission and $3 with KU student ID. If you have a SUA Student Saver Card, you get in free.
Finals Voting: Audience members will vote for their two favorite bands at the end of the night. You must stay until the end of the last band’s set to vote, and you must vote for two different bands. Rankings for first, second, third and fourth place will be announced at the end of the night.

Prizes for the winner and runners-up awarded at the Farmer’s Ball Finals on April 25 will be:

1st place: $2,000.00
2nd place: $1,000.00
3rd place: $500.00
4th place: $250.00

Farmers’ Ball is a chance for bands from Lawrence, Wichita, Kansas City and surrounding regions to compete for the chance to revel in the glory of bragging rights, new fans and cash prizes. A staple in the Lawrence music community for more than two decades, this annual battle of the bands is a mega showcase of local music talent. This event is co-presented by KJHK 90.7 FM and Student Union Activities.
