Since bursting onto the Australian independent music scene in early 2014, Avaberee has spent most of the past year evolving its sound the debut single release of “Lover of Mine.” The band has ventured with purpose to incorporate new musical influences into the songs in its newly released EP.
Avaberee has a unique sound, fitting naturally into the indie-pop and electronic genres. The group delivers gorgeous vocals as the centerpiece to each song, incorporating a variety of beats, bass and electronic elements in the background. The sound is well balanced and fresh, creating a revitalizing atmosphere that excites listeners. Their sound shows the band’s awareness for the indie-pop genre, yet it also displays stunning musical chemistry between the three vocalists.
The electronic aspect of Avaberee’s music is pleasant, but not overpowering like many of their contemporaries in the electronic pop category. The leading vocals and lyricism are without a doubt the most appealing part of their music, having an edgy, rebellious quality that really works. The development of the sound from the initial single, and now the most recent release, leads one to believe that we will be hearing more great stuff from Avaberee in the future.
