Friends and strangers painted each other with colored powder at the Holi festival near Potter Lake April 9.

Holi, originating from Hinduism, marks the beginning of spring and celebrates fertility, love, color and the triumph of good over evil. KU South Asian Student Association Co-President Aswathi Pradeep said it’s also an opportunity to play with your neighbors and show you appreciate each other by painting them. KU Association of Indian Students leader Shipra Malhotra said it brings culture from India to campus in a fun way.
