Introducing: KJHK’s Top Album of the Decade BRACKET

Hello, lovely KJHK fans! As you are well aware, we are quickly nearing the end of the 2010’s. In the spirit of celebrating the decade, KJHK is embarking on what might be one of our greatest undertakings of all time. Like many of the music industry greats (Pitchfork, Stereogum, etc.), we have decided to compile our very own list of some of the decade’s best albums.

We asked our staff members and alumni to vote on a ᴴᵁᴳᴱ list of albums from this decade and narrowed it down to 32 that we feel really encapsulate not only the spirit of the decade, but the spirit of our station.

Now that we have a preliminary list, we need your help. Yes, YOU. We’ll take care of the rest of the list, but we want *you* to help us pick the most important album of them all: the 𝕋𝕠𝕡 𝔸𝕝𝕓𝕦𝕞 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝔻𝕖𝕔𝕒𝕕𝕖.

Here’s the low down… we will be posting the bracket below on our Twitter (@kjhk). From 12/23 to 1/19, you can decide which albums advance in the bracket by voting in the Twitter poll for each pairing. Each poll will be open for 24 hours* — with the exception of the final round, which will stay up for 72 hours.

*We recommend turning on tweet notifications for KJHK so you don’t miss any of the rounds!

When an ultimate winner has been crowned and the spring semester commences, we will release our full Top 50 list on KJHK.org. Folks, you won’t want to miss this! Voting with start in just a few days, but here are some ways that you can prepare to make your voice be heard.

Factors to Consider When Voting for the TOP ALBUM:

  • Which albums had the greatest cultural/social impact?
  • Which albums were genre trend-setters?
  • Which albums had the best production/instrumentation/lyrics?
  • Which albums have you found yourself revisiting over the years?
  • Which albums mark a breakthrough in sound or influence for the band/artist who created them?
  • Which album deserves to Ẁ̴̙̼͍̳͂I̷̞̞̗̒͘ͅN̷͈̩͊̐̚ ̸̧̼͕͑̃̾̕Ì̴̡̱̙̤̒͊̕T̷̨͉̞̺͋̉ ̵̹̀̐̂A̴̝͖͌L̵̺̜̤̓͆L̸̖̙̈́?̶̥͕͆̇̅

Help us crown the best album of the decade by voting in Twitter polls throughout winter break. Make your voice heard!
