Grace Needham | a.k.a Plant Mom
A very kind friend, Trevor, made me a cute little piggie Lego set to sit up with my plants. Every watering day I move the little pig into its watering area so it can have a drink. I have quite literally been doing nothing except loving my plants. Here’s what they’ve been up to recently.
Edwardo: She got two new plants in the past month, which either means Plant Mom is doing very well or very bad. A lot of things have been moving around, but spirits seem pretty high in our plant community.
Sally: The rain these past couple of weeks has been such a bummer, but lately I’ve been the only bright and colorful thing around, so I really feel like I’m where I’m meant to be.
Ruth: I miss having Ronnie here, because he was always up for gossip and sharing his sun, but I hear he’s getting better so I’m really excited to have my sunshine twin back.
Samantha: I have two baby sprouts coming, and I truly can’t be more overjoyed. Every day I am becoming bigger and better, putting me in the competition as the Biggest Plant in the Community.
I can tell that Samantha has convinced herself she’s going to outgrow me, but I grow at three times the rate that she does. Plant Mom keeps telling us that we’re going to be in a new place soon, and I don’t really like change, so I’m not looking forward to it. Eddie won’t shut up about it.
Jeffery: I’m one of the new plants. They say I require little attention but lots of artificial light, so I get a new perch on Plant Mom’s desk, watching the other plants. That’s okay, I don’t like them much yet anyways.
Morgan: I’m new here. I’m an airplane plant currently being propagated, my name is Morgan because Plant Mom named me after her friend that’s an airplane ride away, or something like that. I don’t find it that clever, but she seems to really enjoy it.
Ellie: My aloe was finally used for the first time, and it felt good to help Plant Mom when she was in need. The spot where my aloe was taken from is healing too, and there is growth all around me.
Eddie: The new plant is littler than we are, so we’re already moving up in the food chain. Plant Mom says that we’re moving soon and we’re all really going to like our new spot. I can’t wait to see what new sun spots wait for us!
Ronnie: Ronnie’s obituary was prepared, until we found a friend who was willing to do plant spa treatments for the poor guy and revived him! Ronnie, for the first time in months, has new blooms and happy leaves. He will return to the community in a few weeks!
