Mark your calendars for Lawrence’s annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 14! The event will begin with tours of the Underground Railroad at 8:00 a.m., followed by a parade through Downtown Lawrence at 11:00. The parade will lead to the celebration in South Park, featuring community vendors, food, oral history, and live music starting at noon.
KJHK is stoked to be bringing our friends from Wichita, Kansas, Keo & Them, to the South Park Stage! With their unique blends of Neo-Soul and Alt-R&B sounds, the band’s performance is sure to keep the celebration lively. Keo & Them will begin performing at 4:20, and music will continue all evening until 8:00 p.m.
Juneteenth is a time to celebrate Black history, freedom, and excellence, and KJHK is proud to be a part of such an important event.
