Former LOONA member Yves won the hearts of many when she began the journey of her solo career with the release of her debut EP LOOP May 29th, 2024, and has not slowed down since.
Her most recent comeback album, Soft Error, has been career defining for her. Getting a major feature, PinkPantheress, on the album’s sparkly title track “Soap,” which samples cult-classic song from Rebecca Black, “Sugar Water Cyanide.” Alongside feature from Mexican indie-alt group Bratty on the captivating pop rock track Aibo.
Yves recently wrapped up the Asia-Australia leg of her tour, truly cementing herself as a global pop star as US fans eagerly await an announcement for her next tour in the states. In the coming days, fans will find out if the soloist will be the first female K-Pop idol to be nominated, alongside Rosé & HUNTR/X, for a grammy as “Soap” featuring PinkPantheress was submitted for Best Dance Pop recording.
PinkPantheress and Yves then joined forced again for a remix of “Star” on the remix album Fancy Some More? with industry favorites, SEVENTEEN, also featured on the album. Yves is one of the most notable South Korean soloists to come out of K-Pop in the past few years and I can’t wait to see what is to come for her career.
