Some warm weather driving music.
Upon seeing that Delta Spirit, the band who could make any backyard barbeque feel like Oktoberfest, had a new album out, I snatched it up right away. However, within ten seconds of listening, I realized that this may not be the Delta Spirit that I once knew. And then in another ten seconds or so, I learned that I was completely okay with that. The new sound, rather than a drunken, red solo cup adventure as it was before, is more comparable to a campfire on the beach with a few close buddies and a case of locally brewed beer. It’s a compilation of anthems for driving up and down the California coast in your Ray Bans and Vans slip-ons to. It’s a different sound, yet somehow not an unfamiliar one.
