Inspired by The Irish

Truthfully this isn’t my first or second time getting a bite from Dempsey’s Burger Pub. Honestly one of the reasons I asked to write a review about Dempsey’s was so I had another excuse to go back inside the Irish inspired pub.

Dempsey’s was first recommended to me a year ago by my former boss Bryan Miller when I used to work at Poplar Pizza in Andover, Kansas. As a restaurant owner and proud cook Bryan loves expressing to me, to everyone about different restaurants to check out. So I was pretty stoked when I found out that Lawrence had a location. The burger pub resides at the north end of Vermont St; a jewel that conveniently avoids the “Mass street madness”. Because Dempsey’s is family and Pokemon friendly, getting a bite to eat is always kind of relaxing. The atmosphere of the place is great!

Me and my food accomplice Emilie went there in the late afternoon and ordered a basket of their truffle fries as a side, which comes with four different dipping sauces of your choice that all nicely bring out their properly salted crunchy potatoes.20160721_142829

It was my first time ordering their Blue Burger, a large fist full of commendable grilled beef accompanied by maytag blue cheese, bacon, and onion confiture. Not my first rodeo I ask to swap out their nice default bun for the pretzel bun that typically only comes on a select few of their burgers. Emilie ordered the Hot Hawaii KOBE, another marvel that is served with pineapple jalapeno chutney, applewood bacon, bibb lettuce, spicy sriracha aioli, and a pretzel bun. We both have had the Hot Hawaii before, and our tastebuds still can not stop talking about it. The Blue Burger was tasty too. The meat was cooked well, offered a nice crunch, and interestingly enough the maytag blue cheese made it both hard to hold and put down. We enjoyed our meal, but I am pretty sure we couldn’t move for five minutes after. Though I would not have it any other way.

Needless to say I totally recommend the laid-back burger pub as a great place to catch a slammin’ burger. I myself will probably be going back soon.
