There are few and far between in Lawrence who don’t enjoy a good brunch, a staple of any solid weekend. In the holy land of breakfast food, a new warrior has risen. The Waffle Iron started out serving its deliciousness alongside the tasty iced Mochas of Decade Coffee in the Warehouse District. Now at 7 East 7th Street, right by John Brown Underground, the waffle experience has been taken to the next level. Offering a slew of creative options every weekend, you can choose your sweet or savory journey, blurring the lines of food and art.

Some must have waffles, in my opinion, include the ‘Brown Sugar Maple Bacon Butter and Candied Bacon,’ the ‘Blueberry Lemon Curd,’ and if you’re feeling like pulling all the stops, the ‘Hank Benedict’ Waffle is LIFE CHANGING.

I would be lying if I didn’t say that more than one of these waffles have brought me to literal tears. But I’ll let you decide on your own emotionally fueled edible affair.
