The latest offering from King Khan channels the spirit of the Beatles
King Khan & the Shrines-Idle No More
The first thing that popped into my head while listening to this album was The Beatles. It’s got an old-timey feel while still maintaining originality. The first track sounds like a Beatles song smashed into a progressive instrumental rock concert combined with a jazz club. An interesting listen for sure, with a psychedelic soul feel. The songs speak to the condition of the world today in a way that isn’t chaotic and crazy, which is nice. The showstopper of the album is track 6, “Darkness.” It really gets to the point of the album right away, and it is the best song on the album for sure.
