Mac DeMarco – Salad Days

A Wonderful Experience

Salad Days sounds just like what you’d expect from a new Mac DeMarco release, and it is by all accounts a wonderful experience. The laid-back guitar tone hasn’t gone anywhere, but this record doesn’t feature the jokes and jabs that were all over 2. Mac DeMarco is in love here, and he’s serious about it. “Let Her Go” is the best of the “love songs” on the album, and it pairs a fairly somber message with clean upbeat guitar riffs and tight drums. You kind of know what you’re going to get with Mac DeMarco’s sound, but that doesn’t stop this album from being absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. Listen to it all, and play it all, and love it all. It’s great.
