KU Track and Field Athlete Michael Stigler was named by the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) “National Athlete of the Week.”
Senior track athlete Michael Stigler was named the National Athlete of the Week by the USTFCCCA Tuesday morning after capturing his third consecutive 400 meter hurdle title at the Texas Relays this past weekend.
Stigler’s time of 48.44 is the fastest in the world this year. His time is over a second faster than the next fastest time. His time is also a new school record.
He broke his own school record of 49.19 that he also set at the Texas Relays in 2013.
Track and Field will next compete at the Baylor Invitational on April 3rd as they prepare for the Kansas Relays which will take place April 15-18.
