Big Little Lions: A Little Frayed, A Little Torn

Big-Little-Lion-album-artIn a time where folk rock is at an all time high, it can be easy to pass over a band like Big Little Lions. From Mumford & Sons to The Lumineers, everyone enjoys stomping their feet with a plucking banjo and fun, sing-a-long harmonization. But with so many new bands coming onto the scene it can be hard for one to stick out more than the other.

Big Little Lions did just that. As soon as the album opened up with “This Road With You,” I was instantly hooked. The addition of a female voice as a co-lead in each song was a fresh breath of air, especially with how well their voices blend together. Each song seems to add to the happiness of the last and leaves you with an album that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and make you forget about your troubles. Track number three, “The Time Is Now,” is all about forgetting the past troubles and filling up today with as many memories as possible. Good message accompanied with catchy instrumentals and harmonization.

If you like folk-rock, you’ll love this album. If you’re just looking for a happier song to add to your playlist, this album has plenty of quality options.
