Top 5 Charts:

1.) WAAX – Big Grief

Big Grief may be Brisbane group WAAX’s debut album, but an impressive debut it is. The songs passionately and unflinchingly examine the trials and tribulations of coming of age. WAAX finds a beautiful balance with a sound that is both energetic and heartfelt.

2.) Tame Impala – The Slow Rush

Tame Impala’s groundbreaking Currents was a hard album to follow up; this may be, in part, why The Slow Rush arrived a full five years later. Though it is debatable whether this album lives up to its predecessor, The Slow Rush is a dynamic album and a strong return for Tame Impala.

3.) Yehan Jehan – Earth Arrangements, Vol. 1

What is, perhaps, the most impressive aspect of young Paris-based artist Yehan Jehan’s debut LP, Earth Arrangements, is how the creation of the record demonstrates his wide range of talent. Not only did Jehan produce the entire album, he also created the accompanying art and music videos.

4.) Grimes – Miss Anthropocene

In her fifth studio album, Claire Boucher (aka Grimes) returns with what might be her most astonishing collection of tracks yet. With her typically unsettling flair and alien-like sound, Grimes tackles topics such as climate change, the patriarchy, and death.

5.) Deserta – Black Aura My Sun

Matthew Doty, the artist behind Deserta, finds a sweet spot somewhere between Sigur Ros and Slowdive in this sweeping record. Its conception began in 2017 and has since expanded into Black Aura My Sun.
