Top 5 Charts:

1.) Car Seat Headrest – Making a Door Less Open

Car Seat Headrest’s latest album, Making a Door Less Open, is a definite leap from the group’s well-established (and well-loved) sound into something more experimental. Luckily, CSH pulls off this transition well, creating a record that is, at times, as unsettling as it is catchy.

Depressedelica

2.) Elvis Depressedly – Depressedelica

n a sense, Elvis Depressedly’s stellar new album Depressedelica is something of a love letter to music itself, a synthesis of the broad spectrum of art and influence that shaped his youth. It marks Cothran’s first album of new material under this moniker in four years, and he pushes sonic and genre  boundaries with gleeful abandon.

3.) Music Band – Celebration

The trust built between Music Band members Harry Kagan, Lee Putney, and Duncan Shea comes from a bond of friendship that feels rare among young rock and roll bands. They spent years self-booking, self-recording and self-promoting, creating an invaluable work ethic. And perhaps the most important factor is that je ne sais quoi: a mixture of sincerity and never taking themselves too seriously.

4.) Dead Ghosts – Automatic Charger

Formed nearly a decade ago in Vancouver, Canada, the garage-rock group grew out of founders Byran Nicol, Drew Wilky, and Mike Wilky’s desire to hang out, listen to records and play music. Defying their own expectations, by 2015 the group had released three albums. Playing a distinctive brand of swaggering, blues-infused lo-fi rock, the five-piece quickly won over transatlantic fans and scored fresh fodder for their lyrics with their punk-rock antics.

5.) Day Wave – Crush [EP]

What started as the dream-pop project of Jackson Phillips has now transitioned into a confident expedition into jaunty jangle-rock and bittersweet synth-pop. The songs on the Crush EP highlight the best of lo-fi and the intimate warmth of Day Wave’s production.
