Cheeky Q&A with Cheekface

ABOUT:
The Los Angeles band Cheekface goes by the moniker of America’s Local Band providing a mix of spoken word and singing, non-sequitur lyrics like no other, and some refreshing takes and commentary on the hot mess world around us. Cheekface is made up of guitarist and vocalist Greg Katz, bassist and vocalist Amanda Tannen, and drummer Mark Edwards. You can hear their new single “Pledge Drive” in rotation on KJHK right now (as in right now when this article came out).

FAST FIVE QUESTIONS: Answered by Greg Katz

What was your first-ever screen name?

Whipcreamgiraffe

What sport would be the funniest to add a mandatory amount of alcohol to?

Alcohol use can cause physical impairment and injury during physical activities, which is not usually all that funny, so for me, it would have to be one where injury was unlikely. Competitive Scrabble?

What’s the worst tag line you can think of for a wart removal cream company?

“Our wart removal cream does not work” is the worst one I can think of. Although it would definitely differentiate you from your competitors.

What is the silliest thing you’ve ever seen a stranger do in public?

Picking up dog poop is pretty silly when you think about it. There’s no cool way to pick up something else’s poop.

What did you last Google?

Abortion funds.

Check out their new single here (if you just can’t wait to come across it in rotation).
