Brilliant full-length restores faith in low-frills songwriting.
Hell yeah. Mac DeMarco is here with enough good songwriting to write KJ about. It’s sincere as imaginable, kind of dreamy, fairly wistful, testing the waters of blues without as much of the bummer vibes. It’s a delightful record that reminds me a bit of Spectrals meets Kurt Vile, if you must have comparisons (just teasing, I know you don’t). Check out this strong album from the newcomer to Captured Tracks’ already stacked lineup.
Think: Jangly guitars, something to believe in.
