My Morning Jacket frontman takes a dark and psychedelic turn on his solo debut
Jim James is known for his work with My Morning Jacket but on his first solo album he takes things in a more dark and psychedelic turn. Each track carries a sophisticated style of production which blends James’s voice well with the other instruments creating this soft wall of sound that washes over the listeners. A great example of this would be the very first track on the album, “State of the Art (A.E.I.O.U) which just keeps slowly building upon itself creating this amazing atmosphere. Those who are looking for another My Morning Jacket album might be slightly disappointed but for those fans who are wanting something different than dive right in, he’s there waiting.
Think: My Morning Jacket with a dark psychedelic edge.
