This week on the top of our KJHK chart: Yo La Tengo’s LP mostly comprised of beautiful, innovative covers, Stuff Like That There. The legacy of Yo La Tengo stretches back almost 30 years. With the return of original guitarist Dave Schramm to a tight nucleus of musicians, this fourteenth release is a soothing exhibition of talent.
Second on our charts, the bluesy psych country release from Delta Saints, Bones. Up three spots from last week, Foals takes spot number three with their third release What Went Down. Spot number four is occupied by Beach House’s Depression Cherry for a second week, after 2 weeks at number one. Number five this week is a newcomer to the charts, Circa Waves, with their LP Young Chasers, a follow up to their successful EP release in spring 2015.
New to the chart this week: the aforementioned surf rock group Circa Waves, with Young Chasers; Shannon And The Clams with Gone By Dawn; Widowspeak with All Yours; Organ Jazz Trio with New Standards For The Green lady.
