Bob Dylan-Tempest

Folk legend returns on triumphant new album

Bob Dylan has been on something of a career resurgence ever since the success of the 1997 album Time Out of Mind and Tempest continues the trend. Tempest has a heavy blues influenced sound that is not much different than previous albums like Love & Theft and Modern Times with some minor differences thrown in. For instance, the lead track “Duquesne Whistle” features a jazzy waltz-like guitar opening that calls back to an earlier pre-rock time. Another highlight, is the touching tribute to John Lennon, “Roll On John” which shows a more sentimental side to Dylan. Tempest is definitely an album any Dylan fan can enjoy.
