Fresh Dance Pop will have you longing for the 80s
Capital Cities’ self-named EP ‘Capital Cities’ will have you longing to dance and jump. The opening track, ‘Safe and Sound,’ will have you bopping your head to simple lyrics like, “I could fill your cup.: The first thing that came to my mind when I was listening to the opening track was how I could easily see the song being used for a WrestleMania© theme song. ‘” Sold My Bed, But Not My Stereo” is an incredibly upbeat song with 80’s like electronics and a Brandon Flowers-esque vocals telling a story of someone selling their bed but not their stereo. “Love Away” is probably the deepest lyrically, which shows that lyrics are the weakest value this EP has to offer. But the incredibly catchy, rare instrumentation and electronic efficiency make up for weak lyrics that create awesome songs to not only bring your mood up but to get you dancing.
