King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard: King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

If you want to expand your mind and get lost into the acid rock grooves of a 60s throwback group, check out King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

If there’s one album that proves the 60’s is still alive and well, it’s King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard’s self titled album. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are a psychedelic garage rock group based out of Australia that brings to mind bands like Thee Oh Sees and Ty Segall. They’re just as prolific as those bands with this being their second album of the year.

Their self-title album is a song cycle of sorts and every track is interconnected. As a result, the album flows incredibly well. That being said, the nature of the album makes it difficult to know when a song ends and another one begins, however there are some highlights.

Tracks like “Cellophane” and “I’m in Your Mind” pack enough psychedelic riffs and propulsive garage rock beats to have you screaming for more by the time the album is through.
