Deep Sea Arcade: “Outlands”

Some cheesy surf music…in the best way possible.

Having already been released and well received down in that land where spiders can literally kill you and kangaroos busily bounce about, attending to their abundance of business, “Outlands” is now in ‘Merica. This is the first album by Deep Sea Arcade, although some of the songs are re-tweaked versions from the band’s more humble bedroom recording days.  Most tracks feature the standard, guitars, drums, and a synth sound, but the singer’s voice for some reason brings everything together, and is a huge contribution to the melodies of the songs. You can tell there’s a huge influence from 60’s era rock with this album, track 7 sounds like the soundtrack to some cheesy surf movie, in the best way possible.
