If you like accordion, have we got an album for you!
You guys, this album has accordion! A lot of it! And it’s absolutely terrifying. That’s what makes this album so interesting. In “Longreach” (4), as a solemn melody is floating over the accordion line, percussion instruments work together to sound like knives being sharpened, waiting. Some of the tracks, “Fire Shuffle” (1) have a nice eastern European sounding beat, similar to that of Gogol Bordello. But then there are songs like “Amplifier Hum” (5) with a melody that sound like it could be heard in a Middle Eastern restaurant while eating shawrma.
Recommended: 1, 3, 4, 5 (5 is real cool)
RIYL: mewithoutYou, Gogol Bordello, creepy French music
Do Not Play: None
