Hot Dog! Awesome Hot Dogs!
Lawrence has no shortage of awesome restaurants including various foods such as tacos, burgers and pizza. Lawrence has the bases covered, except for hot dogs. Leeway Franks aims to change that.
Located next to Royal Crest Lanes just off Iowa Street is Leeway Franks, a new hot dog joint that should not be missed. It should be noted that the hot dogs here are not classic ballpark hot dogs. Instead, Leeway Franks hot dogs are quarter pound beef sausages. The sausages are all made with meat from Kansas farms and they taste fantastic.
The inside of the restaurant is clean and modern with a large counter where customers can order and receive their food. With the open layout, customers can even look into the kitchen to see their meal being prepared. 
The menu consists of classic options like chili dogs, classic Coney’s, and bratwurst with weekly and daily specials added in. All dogs are served with a side of fries, or tots, and can be customized with various toppings and sauces.
Leeway Franks offers a wide variety of soda to quench the most extreme thirst and the soda is served in glass bottles which gives the restaurant a classic feel.
Bottom line, Leeway Franks is an awesome hot dog joint that should not be missed. Also, try the Chicago dog if you have the chance. You won’t regret it.
