1.) Clairo – Immunity

Clairo tops the charts for a second week. Debut album Immunity marks a clear maturation in this young artist’s sound; she doesn’t shy away from hard topics, relying more heavily on her vocals than ever before to pack the tracks with emotion.

2.) Florist – Emily Alone

As the title suggests, this Florist record shines a spotlight on the group’s lead singer, Emily Sprague. Emily Alone is at many times peaceful, at others absolutely heart-wrenching. The record proves that simplicity can be truly beautiful.

3.) Cuco – Para Mí

After surviving a near-fatal car crash, the members of Cuco realized that they had lost most of the files containing the music which would have become their debut album. Para Mí was born as the group metaphorically rose from the ashes, a cathartic, healing project that sounds more cheerful than one might expect.

4.) Slaughter Beach, Dog – Safe and Also No Fear

Joined by former bandmate Ian Farmer (Modern Baseball), Jake Ewald releases his third album under the name Slaughter Beach, Dog. Safe and Also No Fear is a folk-rock-y expansion of the fictional town Ewald has created (and populated with characters) over the years.

5.) Angie McMahon – Salt

Angie McMahon makes a stunning break into the music scene in Salt, demonstrating her ability to merge powerful, emotive lyrics with instrumental backing that ranges from low-key to power-packed. The record is as vulnerable as it is intense.
